Join us for an interview and Q&A with the game director of the recent hit Pacific Drive! We’ll be joined by Seth Rosen, Game Director, and Bryant Francis, Senior Editor at Game Developer. We’ll be talking about the development process for Pacific Drive, Seth’s design ethos, and taking audience questions.

• Seth Rosen is the Game Director at Ironwood Studios, and was also the Lead Designer on the recently-released driving survival adventure game, Pacific Drive. Based in Brooklyn, Seth is a 14-year veteran of the games industry with a background in systems design, having previously worked on such titles as BioShock Infinite, various Don’t Starve things, and Mafia 3.

• Bryant Francis is a writer, journalist, and narrative designer based in Boston, MA. He currently writes for Game Developer, a leading B2B publication for the video game industry. His credits include Proxy Studios’ upcoming 4X strategy game Zephon and Amplitude Studio’s 2017 game Endless Space 2.

32-155 is the lecture hall closest to the food court; note that there are two entrances, one on Vassar Street, and one off the Hockfield Court lawn between Vassar and Main St.

Parking

There are several nearby parking garages but we recommend taking public transit. MIT is a short walk from the Kendall Square Red Line station.

MIT locks their exterior doors at 7 pm. If you arrive past this time, you’ll need to use MIT’s Tim Tickets mobile app to enter the building, or message an event organizer to let you in. Tim Tickets should be set up in advance if you need to arrive past 7 pm!

1. To obtain an event pass, click the Tim Tickets button above.
2. Click on Visitor.
3. Enter your mobile number and hit “Send Pin Code”.
4. A PIN code will be texted to you, enter it in the prompt on-screen and click “Login”.
5. You will then be invited to the event. Click “Send my ticket”. The ticket will be added to your account.
6. Download and open the Tim Tickets mobile app on either the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
7. Tap “Visitor Login”.
8. Enter your mobile number and hit “Send Pin Code”.
9. A PIN code will be texted to you, enter it in the prompt on-screen and click “Login”.
10. You will be prompted to update your details. Enter these details in the app, and make sure you upload a profile picture!
11. Hit “Update” to finish updating your profile.

And just like that, you are all set to use Tim Tickets to enter MIT!
